- Abstract
This article analyses the training and attitudes towards employment of the social group known as NEET -Not in Employment, Education or Training- today. This moment socio-political is marked by a high rate of youth unemployment that continues despite the economic recovery announced in recent months. Its purpose is to know the sociocultural characteristics in which they have grown up and their appreciation of the academic training received for their personal, social and work development. To achieve this objective, a mixed methodology based on a quantitative and qualitative approach has been used. The instruments used to collect the data were the interview and the questionnaire. The results obtained show the heterogeneity of this group in which there is a greater presence of young people actively seeking employment, with post-compulsory and higher education, as opposed to the traditional image that identifies them as idle and disinterested young people, without professional training or qualifications.
