- Abstract
The article focuses on the hantaviruses, tick-borne pathogens, and scrub typhus relative to their effects on the military forces of the Republic of Korea (ROK). It discusses scrub typhus, caused by Orientia tsutsugamushi wherein the first reported cases in Korea were examined. It explores the prevalence and distribution of the pathogens which affect humans. It notes that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Korea could record the zoonotic pathogens in the reported disease list.
