Nitrogen Fixation: Spontaneous Atomic Ruthenium Doping in Mo2CTX MXene Defects Enhances Electrocatalytic Activity for the Nitrogen Reduction Reaction (Adv. Keywords: doping; electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction; MXene EN doping electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction MXene 1 1 1 07/09/20 20200707 NES 200707 In article number 2001364, Yongwen Tan and co-workers develop single-atomic ruthenium modified Mo SB 2 sb CT SB I X i sb MXene nanosheets as an efficient electrocatalyst for artificial nitrogen fixation under ambient conditions. Operando XAS studies reveal that single-atoms of ruthenium anchored on Mo SB 2 sb CT SB I X i sb MXene nanosheets act as important electron back-donation centers for N SB 2 sb activation, thus greatly accelerating nitrogen activation and further hydrogenation.
