- Abstract
Companies in the canton of La Maná were forced to reevaluate and adjust their financial strategies to maintain liquidity and preserve their position in the market, for which they implemented measures to optimize their cash flows, seeking alternative sources of financing. Therefore, the objective is to analyze how the level of debt of companies in the canton of La Maná has influenced their sustainability during the crisis derived from the co- vid-19 pandemic, specifically in the context of the health emergency. For which a qualitative approach was used, through the correlation method between the indicators of indebtedness, liquidity and profitability, through the non-experimental design. The result was that the low negative correlation between debt and net margin, with a coefficient of -0.394, suggests a weak but negative association between debt and net profitability. Concluding that companies, although their correlations are low, could resort to debt as part of a broader strategy to strengthen their financial base and support expansion projects.
