- Abstract
This article discusses a study which analyzed the future hydroclimatology of the Mekong River basin (NRB) simulated by the high resolution Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) atmospheric general circulation model (AGCM) for 2080-2099. The study indicated that the annual mean precipitation increases by 4.2 percent, higher in the northern MRB and the annual mean temperatures by approximately 2.6 ° Celsius. They also found that all MRB sub-basins experience an increase of the number of wet days, the magnitude and frequency of floods and a reduction in the likelihood of droughts/low flow periods. They concluded that it is important to start policies and infrastructure to protect the nation.
