- Abstract
The Swiss Academic Society for Environmental Research and Ecology (saguf) has strengthened its strategic focus on sustainability transformation and intensified dialogue with the younger generation. Three central aspects are emphasized: the change of socio-ecological problems, the pluralization of approaches in knowledge production and dissemination, and the insufficient transformation in the scientific system. The Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences (SAGW) has launched a sustainability research initiative to promote the transformation of the scientific system towards sustainability and transdisciplinarity. The initiative aims to foster dialogue with younger generations of environmental and sustainability scientists and enable the exchange of needs and expectations for contemporary sustainability research. In the future, the SAGW will increasingly engage with transformative approaches and practices of research and learning to support a comprehensive and profound transformation of the scientific system.
