- Abstract
The author reflects on the kissing bug epidemic in the U.S. in 1899. Discussed is the human exposure to nocturnal Triatominae vector bites as well as the Trypanosoma cruzi parasitic infection. Also tackled is the study on Conorhinus sanguisugus species, mentioning that they suck the blood of people and other mammals.
