- Abstract
The article discusses a study which investigated the mechanisms of neurotrophin-3-transfected Schwann cells on functional recovery and axonal regeneration following nerve injury. Topics discussed include the role of Schwann cells and neurotrophin-3 in neural regeneration, the transplantation of Schwann cells transfected with neurotrophin-3 and poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) into rats and the benefits of the transplantation of the composite scaffold.
