- Abstract
The article offers information on administrative burden of iPLEDGE, a program by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for managing the risk of isotretinoin, a prescription medication used for the treatment of acne. Topics include clinicians who regularly prescribe isotretinoin at times chosen not to prescribe isotretinoin to patients with severe acne because of the burden of the iPLEDGE program; and how iPLEDGE program is causing physician burden and suboptimal treatment plans for patients.
