- Abstract
The article discusses a study which implemented and evaluated a multimodal intervention to improve osteoporosis treatment in patients with fragility fracture. Conducted between October 2007 and October 2008, patients at a large tertiary public hospital in Australia were surveyed to assess their awareness of osteoporosis and the need for treatment. Two factors contributing to the prevalence of osteoporosis are increased life expectancy and aging population. The study concluded that identifying at-risk patients is a key to improve osteoporosis management.
