- Title
Knitwear prognosis 2005.
- Abstract
This article provides insights into the future of the knitwear market for men and women in 2005. The year 2005 will be a much better for men's knitwear producers, according to a survey by the association Gesamtmasche. Men's knitwear, especially in the second half of 2004, attained a higher turnover than ladies' knitwear. Exports also showed positive results and proved better than domestic business. Although the most of men's knitwear producers reported an upswing in orders at yearend, major differences could be seen in company trends. A more important topic of discussion for the men's knitwear producers is trade fairs. A number of companies are either canceling their participation totally or concentrating their presentations on fashion centers and showrooms. Ladies' knitwear producers, on the other hand, are entering 2005 with considerable confidence. Aside from a generally good status for orders, an increase in profits is also expected for exports.
