- Abstract
Cladograms are classification schemes that test for monophyly. Recent discussions have argued that cladograms ignore species histories or genealogies in the classification of taxonomic groups. The conclusion drawn from these discussions is that are two “ways of seeing” classification - synchrony and diachrony.
