- Abstract
The article describes the syngas chemical looping (SCL) gasification process that converts gaseous fuels like coal derived syngas into hydrogen and electricity through the aid of an iron based oxygen carrier particle. It presents a thermodynamic analysis that reflects a desired countercurrent moving-bed reducer design after which a multistage ASPEN Plus model to simulate the reducer performance is developed. It suggests that the gas and solid conversions in the reducer can attain a high level with a countercurrent moving bed operation.
