- Abstract
The article presents a study which explores the dose intensity and hematologic toxicity in older and younger breast cancer patients treated with systemic chemotherapy. It centers on 1224 patients with stage I and III breast cancer. The primary outcome that were measured include anemia, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia. The study found that there were no differences in hematologic toxicities between older and younger patients.
