- Abstract
The article reports a study which was conducted to assess and compare treatments and prescriptions of patients with advanced dementia in nursing home (NH) facilities and at home care (HC). The results revealed an excessive use of disease-oriented medication in HC patients with advanced dementia higher than in the NHs. Implementation of regular revision of drugs is recommended for both NH and HC patients taking into account the patient’s condition as well as life expectancy and goals of care.
