- Title
Aggressive Aortic Replacement for Loeys-Dietz Syndrome.
- Authors
Hughes, G. Chad
- Abstract
The article describes a surgical intervention called valve-sparing aortic root replacement (VSRR) for Loeys-Dietz Syndrome (LDS), an autosomal dominant connective-tissue disorder. It indicates that a valve-sparing technique is effective in preventing late type A dissection. It also suggests that the formation of patch pseudoaneurysm can be prevented by a technique called side-branch which is intended for arch and visceral vessel reimplantation.
