- Abstract
This article discusses the history of research into the use of dental resins. The work of Hagger from the Amalgamated Dental Company in Zurich Switzerland in 1949 is cited as the origin of dental adhesives used in bonding. The use of polymers such as glycerophosphoric acid dimethylacrylate and methyl methacrylate, and epoxy resins is described.
