- Abstract
The article explores the nature of a constitutional political economy (CPE) research program, the commitments it involves, and the resources available to the program. The article also explores the normative and positive aspects of CPE, alternative methods of study, the fundamental welfare theorem, and the role of "homo economicus" in the explication of CPE as an approach to political philosophy. In addition, the authors highlight motivational psychology and institutional analysis as major aspects of the economic method deployed by CPE.
