- Abstract
This article discusses a case report and literature review on abdominal wall pseudocyst after subcutaneous onlay endoscopic approach (SCOLA) mesh repair. The study reports on a 69-year-old woman who developed a pseudocyst, recurrent hernia, and rectus diastasis following SCOLA mesh repair. The patient underwent surgery to excise the pseudocyst, repair the hernia, and reinforce the linea alba with a polypropylene mesh. The surgery was successful, and follow-up examinations showed no signs of recurrence. The article also provides a literature review of other reported cases of pseudocysts following hernia repair, showcasing different approaches to hernia repair. The text discusses the occurrence and treatment of pseudocysts in the anterior abdominal wall following ventral hernia repair using a mesh, presenting various cases and describing different treatment approaches. The authors recommend careful removal of the pseudocyst capsule from the mesh surface to prevent recurrence and emphasize the importance of postoperative measures such as wound drainage and compression devices.
