- Title
From Helen Prochazka's Scrapbook: Maths and the Atom Bomb.
- Abstract
The article discusses the development of Teller-Ulam design of thermonuclear weapons designed by Polish mathematician Stanislaw Ulam. The author stated that mathematicians have been deeply involved in nuclear physics as physicists themselves from the inception of the atomic age. She added that Dr. Ulam and one assistant have turned in their answers about the calculations to be made in the creation of the bomb before the instructions to ENIAC had been completed.
