- Abstract
The purpose of the following article is to analyze the use of technology as a tool in training accounting students at the University of Zulia. The study is of the analytical type with a combined, cross-sectional design. Research techniques included questions asked of the teachers and students and non-structured interviews applied to partners from public accounting firms as well as direct observation. Results show that nowadays, only a few teachers use all the available technological tools during their teaching-learning process about accounting skills. Some of the teachers have attended seminars for the creation of virtual classrooms. Most of the students use the different tools available on the web to look for bibliographic information and use e-mails and chat on their own. Finally, there are a lot of strategies, sources and tools than can be used for training public accountants. Therefore, teachers should develop the skills to manage and apply different didactic tools available on the Web and stimulate their use by students.
