- Abstract
Die "Erweiterte Critical-Incident-Analyse" wurde entwickelt, um eine konkrete interkulturelle Problemstellung zu untersuchen: Geleitet von einer Forschungsfrage, die kulturell bedingte Problemfelder zwischen deutschen und polnischen Studierenden an einer grenzüberschreitenden Universität identifizieren wollte, entstand eine Methodenkombination, bei der die Analyse von Critical Incidents im Mittelpunkt steht. Am Beispiel einer kulturkontrastiven Studie zeigt dieser Beitrag, wie methodologische Probleme, die bei interkulturellen Forschungsvorhaben auftreten, durch eine Kombination verschiedener qualitativer Ansätze gelöst werden konnten. Critical Incidents stellen eine klassische Analyseeinheit in der interkulturellen Forschung dar. In der "Erweiterten Critical-Incident-Analyse" werden diese zusammen mit problemzentrierten Interviews (WITZEL 2000), einem entsprechenden Kodierungsverfahren, Indikatoren und Expert/innenmeinungen in einem Methodenmix wissenschaftlich fundiert für anwendungsorientierte kulturkontrastive Fragestellungen operationalisiert.
