- Abstract
Finlay-Marks syndrome is a rare anomaly, first described in 1978 by Finlay and Marks, characterized by scalp defects, malformed ears, and absent or rudimentary breasts and nipples; the condition is also termed scalp-ear-nipple (SEN) syndrome.1 Almost 30 cases have been reported, with variable phenotypes, suggesting that the syndrome is inherited in an autosomal-dominant manner.2 However, most reports simply described pediatric cases or affected families; no report has described an adult female who requested breast reconstruction to bolster her self-identification and self-confidence. Breast reconstruction via fat grafting for a patient with bilateral congenital amastia (Finlay-Marks syndrome) The appearance 2 years after the second fat grafting gl Amastia is a rare congenital deformity characterized by uni- or bilateral absence of breasts and the nipple-areola complexes.3 It is observed in several syndromes of genetic origin, including Finlay-Marks syndrome and ectodermal dysplasia.
