- Abstract
The aim of this study was to analyze the levels of emotional intelligence, self-esteem and resilience of future teachers in training, as well as the levels of physical activity and their intention to be physically active, comparing these factors with each other and with the sex variable. The study population consisted of 442 students from different Spanish universities studying education-related subjects. Several instruments were used: the IPAQ-SF to determine the level of physical activity; the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale to analyze levels of self-esteem; the MIFAU questionnaire to determine the intention to be physically active; the CD-RISC scale to assess the level of resilience; and the TMMS-24 to analyze emotional intelligence. The results obtained allow us to verify the relationship between the different psychosocial factors analyzed. In addition, the need to pay attention to the physical activity performed by teachers in training has become evident, since the study has shown that being physically active influences emotional processes and resilience.
