- Abstract
An essay is presented which explores the cultural aspects of cooking and nutrition on the island of Kalymnos in Greece. The author describes his experience of filming a teenager receiving a cooking lesson from her mother and discusses the use of organic foods and the absence of fast food on the island. He addresses changes in food practices, the cultural process of learning to cook, and the role of the body in cooking.
