- Title
FORTY-PLUS YEARS OF IOWA CHOICE-OF-LAW PRECEDENT: THE AFTERMATH OF THE RESTATEMENT (SECOND) OF CONFLICT OF LAWS.
- Authors
Tuininga, Kevin
- Abstract
The article examines how the Iowa's Second Restatement of conflict of laws precedent can be characterized by a series of descriptive rules such as tort rules and contract rules. It mentions that the rules encompassing the state's approach to the common choice-of-law dilemmas are adapted by other writers from rules formulated for other states with similar conflict laws. Also emphasized is the importance of the descriptive rules in predicting the court's approach to a choice-of-law problem.
