Is safety included in your science activity kits?
- Authors
Roy, Ken
- Abstract
The article discusses safety in science activity kits. Teachers should make sure that kit activities should not put students in harm's way. They should always check out and run through activities in kits prior to assigning them to students. They also need to make sure that the activity kits they plan on using are age appropriate. The personal protective equipment, considered as an essential part of safety, should be provided in kits. Material Safety Data Sheets information should also be included in kits for specific hazardous chemicals used in activities. Activities should be done safely in science classroom or science laboratory.
