- Abstract
The teaching of science requires the use of educational games as alternative teaching tools to traditional ones, aiming to motivate interaction and learning, since playfulness facilitates student learning and contributes to socialization and communication. To this end, we devised a format to illustrate educational material in classes through the development of the extension project: creation of scientific dissemination texts, games, and the use of stop motion as a tool to promote meaningful learning in chemistry teaching. Thus, the project aimed to develop a set of educational materials to assist in science classes, presented in schools through lectures. It is worth noting that the focus of this work is on the game produced in the project, whose objective was for students to learn the name and symbol of the elements that make up the macronutrients and micronutrients necessary for plant development. After explaining the topics related to the material, the students were divided into 6 groups of 5 members, and a qualitative analysis and detailed description of each of the topics addressed in the questionnaire were carried out to observe whether there was learning before and after the game application. In summary, it was observed that through the use of the methodological tool, students found it easier to learn the symbols and names, thus the game promoted meaningful learning, participation, curiosity, and interest among students.
