- Abstract
In order to determine the applicability of the step horizontal well in Caofeidian Oilfield, the step horizontal well applicability for reservoir was analyzed from the lateral reservoir distance and longitudinal depth. The stepped horizontal well production profiles under different conditions were analyzed on the basis of the underground seepage theory and node analysis. Research indicates that 90% of the lateral section contributes to production when the lateral reservoir distance is nor more than 200 m and the longitudinal depth is nor more than 30 m, which is applicable for multi-interval mingled production. It was applied to Minghua Town Formation of Caofeidian Oilfield. A step horizontal well was deployed and implemented, which gains favorable production performance with dual-reservoir comingled production. This research could provide a new idea for the production of marginal reserve.
