- Abstract
From the frontline of COVID-19 - how prepared are we as obstetricians? Currently, little is known about COVID-19 but there are valuable lessons to be learned from studies of human coronaviruses (HCoV) and the outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) in 2003, to help guide obstetrical management during this current disease outbreak. Isolated patients should only be cared for by a dedicated team of doctors and nurses who only care for patients meeting these strict triaging criteria and not care for other low-risk patients. Staff who are caring for suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 patients should be closely monitored for fever or other signs of infection and should not be working in the presence of any COVID-19 symptoms.
