- Abstract
This article explores the effects of social media on medical college students. It acknowledges that social media has transformed medical education by providing access to diverse learning resources, collaboration opportunities, and networking with professionals worldwide. However, it also highlights the potential drawbacks of excessive social media use, such as negative emotions, distractions, and a decline in academic performance. The article emphasizes the importance of finding a balance between leveraging the benefits of social media for educational purposes and mitigating its potential drawbacks. It also references studies that show the prevalence of social networking addiction and internet addiction among medical students. The article concludes by suggesting that the medical education community critically examine social media developments and integrate them into educational frameworks while identifying and controlling possible dangers.
