- Abstract
As an extension associate in the Department of Design and Environmental Analysis, Mark Pierce knows that many of the problems faced by rural upstate communities are so complex and difficult to address that effective solutions require the cooperation of many public and private agencies. Pierce, a former contractor in the residential building trades and an expert in the physical aspects of housing, interacts with more than a dozen agencies across Central New York to ensure that all citizens regardless of their income, education, and other limiting resources have equal access to healthy indoor air.
