Roy Williams is one of the most eminent Black British authors of our time, having written over twenty plays for British stages over the last thirty years, alongside radio drama and feature films. At the time, David Beckham was playing, so there were lots of comments about Beckham, particularly his wife, Posh Spice - and I wrote these comments into the text of the play.
