- Abstract
The article focuses on the effect of acarbose, an anti-diabetic drug, and its association with cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). Particular focus is given to the studies conducted on the patients with diabetes along with the comparison of acarbose with other drugs including metformin, sulfonylureas, and glinides. The article also discusses the result of the studies suggesting therapy to be used for preventing heart disease.
