- Abstract
The article discusses the U.S. Supreme Court (USSC) and the precedential influence of concurring court opinions as of March 2012. According to the article, a concurring opinion is one in which the authoring judge agrees with the lead opinion issued in the case. USSC Justice Clarence Thomas' concurring opinion in the case McDonald v. City of Chicago is addressed.
