- Abstract
The article presents a study on patients with an activation mutation of lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5 (Lrp5) gene and high bone mass (HBM). It discusses details of the methodology performed on families most of whom lived in Funen, Denmark to evaluate bone mass, bone geometry and markers of bone turnover, and their correlation to serum serotonin and age. It explores the significance of the research in finding the relationship of level of sclerostin and carriers of Lrp5 mutation.
