- Abstract
Antigen and antigen-specific IgE can activate IgE receptors and induce IL-4 production by mast cells or basophils. In allergic inflammation, the cells existing in the mucosa take up antigens and present them to produce specific immunoglobulin E (IgE). Mast cells or basophil express the IgE receptor binding to antigen-specific IgE and antigens.
