Presents the case of a motor vehicle accident victim who was admitted to a hospital due to fractures, and whose electrocardiograph showed changes while she was in the hospital, as a diagnostic mystery. Injuries resulting from the accident; Shortness of breath and chest discomfort as signs of pulmonary embolism; Need for a ventilation-perfusion scan; Possible consequences of a pulmonary embolism.
