- Abstract
The article discusses the photocatalytic activity of mesoporous titania (TiO2)-alumina (Al2O3) nanocomposites produced from a sol-gel method. It mentions the key role of adsorption in subsequent photocatalytic decomposition of organic molecules. Moreover, titania's spectral range of photocatalytic activity can be extended to the visible range by forming multiphase nanostructured composites made up of two semiconductors with different kinds of conductivity.
