- Authors
HUDSON HICK, DARREN
- Abstract
The article examines the history and current practice of literary appropriation. Particular focus is given to a blog written by the author Simon Morris, which appropriated passages from the book "On the Road," by Jack Kerouac and resulted in the eventual publication of Morris' 2010 book "Getting Inside Jack Kerouac's Head" (GIHKH). Additional topics discussed include appropriation of art by other artists including Sherrie Levine, conceptual writing and literature and insights on the topic from the philosopher Henry Goodman.
