- Abstract
Lichen sclerosus is a progressive, inflammatory dermatosis that is characterized by porcelain-white, shiny, well defined, sclerotic papules and plaques. Although the etiology of lichen sclerosus is unknown, it may be associated with autoimmune diseases. In childhood, it is usually localized in the anogenital region and extragenital localization is very rare. In this case report, we present cases of lichen sclerosus with extragenital localization that were identified in two girls, aged 10-12. Both patients also had lesions that were localized on the extremities, shoulders and trunk without anogenital involvement. Diagnosis was established based on clinical and histopathologic findings. Our aim is to draw attention to this condition, rarely seen in childhood.
