- Abstract
The article presents an in-depth analysis of terrorism and counterterrorism in Egypt as of January 2015. It mentions the major security challenges facing the country with frequent attacks on civilians and security forces by non-state armed groups in 2014, making it the highest number of terrorist attacks since the resignation of former President Hosni Mubarak in 2011. It also notes the repressive measures adopted by the military regime led by Abdul Fattah El Sisi to combat terrorism.
