- Abstract
The article demonstrates the increased graft-versus-host disease (GVHD)-related mortality with broad-spectrum antibiotic use after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in human patients and mice. It illustrates the effect of imipenem-cilastatin and piperacillin-tazobactam antibiotics in the treatment of neutropenic fever, and aztreonam and cefepime. It also shows the perturbation of gut microbial composition associated with piperacillin-tazobactam administration.
