- Abstract
Discusses the basic principles that influence the shock strength needed for defibrillation with different electrode sizes, shapes and locations. Ways to quantify shock strength; Principle means of changing the voltage of the shock for a given electrode configuration; Difficulty in measuring potential gradients in the heart; Minimum potential gradient needed for defibrillation.
