- Abstract
The article describes the synthesis and properties of poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(trimethylene carbonate) (PEG-b-PTMC) star block copolymers via ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of trimethylene carbonate (TMC) monomer initiated at the hydroxyl end group of the core PEG using HCl Et2O as a monomer activator. Most of the micelles prepared from PEG-b-PTMC star block copolymers were spherical. PEG-b-PTMC star block copolymers may reportedly become hydrophobic drug delivery vehicles.
