- Abstract
The article examines the effect of xanthan and chitosan biopolymer concentration on the steady shear and oscillatory rheological properties of progesterone microemulsions. Observation showed the increase in zero shear viscosity with the biopolymer concentration, while the behavior of all preparations with xanthan gum and chitosan were characteristic of weak gels and liquid-like solutions. Results revealed the correlation between dynamic and steady shear properties of the two polymers.
