- Abstract
The article reports on the move by aquaculture experts to urge more tuna industry stakeholders to explore acquaculture during the 10th National Tuna Congress held in General Santos City, Philippines in September 2008. Ramon Macaraig, president of the Chamber of Aquacultur and Ancillary Industries in Sarangani (CHAINS), stated the benefits of high domestic aquaculture production in the Philippines to the current supply gap in local and foreign markets. Also cited are marine species that offer good potential in both domestic and Asia-Pacific markets.
