- Abstract
A conference paper about chlamydia, which is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by the bacteria Chlamydia trachomatis, is presented. It discusses the prevalence of chlamydia in Australia. An examination of C. trachomatis' life cycle, the damage to the reproductive tract from symptomatic and asymptomatic chlamydial infections, and the pathogenesis of chlamydial infections in women is presented.
