- Abstract
The article discusses the adverse effects of consuming cheese and taking tranylcypromine or other anti-depressant monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors. Topics discussed include the pressor effects of tyrosine derivative, tyramine found in aged cheese, pheochromocytoma-like manifestation, the dangers of cheese and MAO-inhibitor combination for depressed, normontive patients and its benefits to patients with severe idiopathic postural hypotension.
