Tanowitz, Herbert B.; Weiss, Louis M.; Montgomery, Susan P.
- Abstract
In this article the authors discuss the epidemiology of Chagas disease, which is used to be confined in Latin America. They state the spread and control of Chagas disease outside Latin America, the U.S., and other parts of the world. They note the organ and tissue safety concerns among immune-suppressed patients with Chagas disease. They highlight the value of awareness that Chagas disease occurs in places outside Latin America in developing means to prevent possible sources of transmission.
